Career
Tokihayate is a 30-year-old *rikishi* from Miyagi Prefecture competing for Tokitsukaze stable. He debuted in March 2019 and has alternated between *Jūryō* and *Makuuchi* in recent tournaments. After consecutive *make-koshi* at *maegashira* in March and May 2026 dropped him to *Jūryō* 2 East in July, he secured a strong 10-5 record to return to the top division. In September 2026, fighting at *Maegashira* 15 West, he posted an 8-7 *kachi-koshi* and earned promotion to *Maegashira* 14 East for November 2026.
His attack blends *yorikiri* with throwing techniques such as *uwatenage* and *shitatenage* as a roughly equal secondary weapon, supported by pushing attacks.
